PonderEthereal - Ad Disclosure

Throughout PonderEthereal, you will see a variety of ads. I currently have ad space devoted to Amazon, Google Adsense, TooTimid.com, tagword and Petsmart (via LinkShare.com). You will also notice that I have an entire section of the site devoted to product reviews and from those reviews, I use links that I could get paid for. One might wonder - am I giving good reviews to the products or companies that I have ads up for just so that they will pay me for the ads?

It actually works quite the opposite. I won't host an ad for a product I can't recommend. It's common decency that I shouldnt get so into the loads of cash they are wheeling in my door (read: checks for piddly amounts every now and then) that I would root for you to click on ads for crappy products and inadvertently be sucked into buying something that I wouldnt buy myself. Although google adsense and some of the targeted Amazon ads are dynamically populated with links that they recommend, I love both google and amazon and trust their system for making recommendations based upon the content of the page and your browsing or shopping history. I use google ads because . :)

So in summary, yes the ads are paid. No, I don't make a lot of money for them. Yes, I recommend those companies and products and would even if I weren't making money off of them.
