Beyond the Surface

You remember the flower on the ground incident a while back..

well the other day, I dropped Emma off at school.. about a week and a half ago, maybe? And as I was getting on to the interstate to go to work, over on the right hand side, there was a construction area on the overpass. There was an orange sign that said 'power lines overhead' in the constrution zone.

.. as the power lines were totally obvious to me, I imagined that there were probably some big pieces of equiptment that would find that sign very useful. What would happen if a power line broke? How in the HELL do you FIX a power line? You cant just patch it with electrical tape. You'd have to replace it where it broke.. but how much of the line would you have to replace? A quarter mile of power cable? A few feet? And how on EARTH could you do that.. you'd have to shut down that part of the grid completely.. and then ppl would be out of power.. that would be a really big deal. And then I got onto the interstate and went to work.

Stupid thoughts.. useless in the big picture of my day.. just shit you think about when you look at stuff.

A crane at a construciton site ran into a power line over an interstate two days ago and knocked out power for a good many ppl. The interstate was closed while they fixed it and they had to close it again yesterday for a while.

hrm.

I had a premonition that a girlfriend of mine that moved to LA to be a teacher was going to act. I called her to tell her.. maybe if she gets rich and famous, she'll remember the little people who were psychic enough to tell her ahead of time.. heh
