Scrubbed Clean

After all of the struggling, I laid down at his altar. I felt his giant wings and fiery gaze. He told me to breathe it in and I did. Violet flame poured through me, moving without my control. Scathing, fierce, hot. I relinquished and allowed him and floated away in the bath of fire. And outer layer upon outer layer came off under their gentle but direct hands. I laid still. I breathed. I let it disintegrate.
I’m not who I was. The sum of me is less but I’m stronger and wilder. I make spirals upon spirals of the same steps on a different level and this is new ground again.
