NaBloPoMo Reflections
Thursday, November 30, 2006 9:14Today is the 30th. The last day of NablopMo. I thought it would be easy to blog every day without fail. I mean… I do it already anyways. Might as well enter to win a few prizes while I’m at it, right? It posed a few challenges though.
First, I was out of town for two and a half days this month which NEVER happens. It was like some sort of Nablopmo conspiracy to schedule it RIGHT int he month my ONE vacation away from home without kids or husband in over 8 years is scheduled. In order to post, I had to get my Treo set up to do so. I wound up posting from the road both days. I did score major geek points from my car mates for doing so though. I dont think that the full awe of the magic of the Treo set in until that moment and I don’t think Starchilde had ever really considered just HOW dedicated bloggers might be.
Second, no one wants to blog on Thanksgiving - or the day after. Something about turkey makes the connection between available snark and the fingers faint.
Third, all my good thinking and insight comes out of lunch hours waiting behind a hundred Marines in line at the bank and really long boring meetings - of which, there were NONE last week. SO, *PSHA*… what’s a girl to blog about? A whole week down the tubes.
I tried NaNoWriMo last year and failed miserably at it. I had a really good idea for the story… and it’s still a good idea. But writing it every day.. or even one day, proved to be too much for me. NaBlopMo was a little more attainable. I will not, however, be participating in Holidailies. I’m not that hardcore, yo.
It’s ironic that today is the last day of the blopathon and I have more to post today than I have since I was storing up posts in preparation for it.
So anyways, it was real. Thanks for enduring the navel gazing and the posts with two lines because I really had nothing of substance to say. Now back to your regularly scheduled blogging (which will include ANOTHER post today because I am so chock full of blogging goodness now that I don’t need to come up with something every day!!!).
