Tha ‘Rrado’

Arg.. sigh.. smile

Ryan tells me on the way home from work one day that he put in for a loan for a Corrado. As he’s telling me this, he’s grinning and squirming.. and GLOWING. I swear, I have NEVER seen that man so happy before in my life.

He’s wanted a VW Corrado forever. He’s been considering new car options for a couple months now and this was an answer to all of the above. Waiting for the financing to complete was like waiting for the birth of a child. The day finally arrived and he took the train to LA and drove it home. Glowing, again.

This thing made him SO happy that I told him I was going to dress up like a Corrado one evening instead of the sexy lingere most women dress up in.

He’s adopted a new bbs somewhere where Corrado lovers can get together and talk shop. He gets these jokes from there and tells them to me.. and I just stare. I dont get it. Not that the joke probably isnt funny.. but it’s like a doctor telling a funny joke about a man walking into an endoscopy instead of a bar. I dont even know what an endoscopy is.. it just sounded like a complicated procedure and equally as painful.

He says there is a Corrado group in San Diego and they all get together and dote over their automobiles.. they had pictures. One picture had another vw car stuck in a bunch of Corrados and Ryan found that wildly hillarious. Just a sampling of the tremendous humor to be found in Corrados.

The other day, he took the “C” to the store. Later that day, he took the “Rrado”. He’s got the next three years of modifications planned out. He plans on fitting them all into the next few weeks, I think.

The kids like it. Emma told him he has a ‘fancy car’ and one day when she gets big enough, she is going to trade HER car in and get a ‘fancy Corrado’! Ethan said he wanted a cool car like that when he grows up. :) he then pointed at the old manual door locks (you know.. the ones that are a post with a knob on the top that you push down and pull up to lock and unlock the door?) and asked ‘mommy.. what is that?’ hehehehe
