Diet Progress

I’m still on the relocation diet. That’s the diet you’re on when you give up on attempting to keep up with the Hacker Diet because you’re mid-move and you’re really just eating anything you can get your hands on. And the computers were disconnected for a week anyways and that’s where the spreadsheet is so there is no use trying to keep up with that whole part of it. And then you move into the house and then it’s time to clean, paint and build walls elsewhere so you’re just eeking by on enough sleep to keep you going through the day so you’ve been drinking LOTS of caffeine and then lots of wine at night to try to relax and still just eating what you can get your hands on. But then you have a mint chip shake ‘for lunch’ thinking it would be a nice treat after painting on your lunch hour. Then you go sit in front of your computer screen and you think you might just DIE from the desire to curl up and go to sleep now that your sugar level is crashing. That one.

But I haven’t given up and I’m still losing weight. I’m at 156. Yay, me! That’s down from 172 two months ago and 4 pounds from a month ago. Gosh… wow. I am almost at the 20 pound mark. I have lost 16 pounds. When I say it that way and actually SEE the numbers, well… it seems like such a big accomplishment. It’s been 3 weeks and I finally shaved this weekend when I gave in and bought some disposable razors till I can dig mine out of the garage. So to say I havent been focusing on the finer details of my physical health lately is an understatement. To ‘wake up’ and find that my weight is still decreasing rather than increasing without a tremendous amount of pain is a very pleasant surprise.

My goal weight is 140. That is a healthy weight for me that I am pretty happy with. I have 16 pounds to go. It fell off in the past two months. Maybe I can make that goal in another two? At any rate, I fit into my skinny fat jeans without sucking it in and I’m satisfied with that.

This post is part of my commitment to keep this public so that I have more accountability. It’s not so bad making it public when I’ve actually been losing something, eh? :) For some real inspiration, check out this gal who has further to go and is working WAY harder than I would have the balls to work.
