Me and I were sitting talking about piercing yesterday while Ethan listened in and I wondered aloud at how cool it is for kids his age to have moms who get pierced and get tattoos. When I was his age, piercing just wasn’t as widely accepted as it is now. Indigenous cultures aside, when I was his age, no one did it. Now, anyone is likely to have a stud or ring somewhere unexpected.

I’m going to take him to get his ears pierced for Christmas (with a needle in a piercing shop, not with a gun at the mall). He’s wanted them pierced for a couple of years. He’s accustomed to all of my piercings and all of his dad’s and Ryan has his ears pierced and so piercings are just normal to him - which I think is way cool. Me getting my piercing is a good opportunity to take him with me to see it done before he makes the decision to do it.
