Using Face Reading with Online Dating

Online dating kinda has a reputation for being a little bit scary. You get to hear what they SAY they are like and maybe see a picture or two - and then you are face to face with them at possibly one of the most wonderful - or horrific meetings you’ve ever had. But, if you use face reading, there is a whole lot you can tell about a person before you ever decide to meet them.

I took a class by Barbara Roberts on face reading a couple of years ago and what I learned from that one class has been invaluable in online dating. That said, one picture is only one moment in time. Some of the more changable features might only be indicitive of that moment. I want to see more than one picture of a person and I really only read for the things that are most important to me. Here are a few:

  • Right V/s Left - Block off half of the person’s face (right or left) and look at the exposed half. Then block that half and look at the other half independently. Everyone has some asymmetry between the right and left sides of the face - however, DRASTIC asymmetry speaks to a whole lot of BIG stuff going on on the inside that they try to not let on about. The left side of their face (your right) is what’s on the inside and the right side of their face (your left) is what they are showing on the outside.
  • Emotional habits - do they have smile lines or frown lines around their eyes and mouth? Does their mouth naturally have a curve up or down? Do they have bags under their eyes or does their face seem to ‘drag’ downward, indicating high levels of stress - constantly?
  • Dishonesty - a hawk nose - or a nose that hooks under at the end, a smile that is a smile on one side and a sneer on the other - or devious on the other, slitted ‘calculating’ eyes (especially on their left side)
  • You can use face reading to tell a WHOLE LOT about a person… how they handle money, what kind of trauma they have in their past, what they are like intellectually and all kinds of other stuff. The book we used in class was : Face Reading: What Does Your Face Say? and I do highly recommend it. I’ve read a few others but they haven’t proven to be nearly as accurate.
