I went to Pride today. It was my very first pride ever. I went with Elmirion and sexxyred1 paid my way into the festival because I was brokdededed. It was kinda nice. There were lots of people… lots of gay people and they were all happy and friendly and open and PROUD. I LIKED that. I LIKED feeling like that part of me was ‘normal’ for a few hours.

There were twelve whole bisexuals in the parade. Count them. 12. I mean.. maybe there were some that didn’t march under the banner but I guess that is to say that bisexuality as a whole was very under-represented. And the dykes on bikes? Hot. There is something about a really hot lesbian on a really big, mean bike that just did it for me. They had WAY better bikes than the boys did, btw. Some of the politicians looked a little shell shocked. Like maybe they thought they were SUPPOSED to be in the California Republicans Parade and couldn’t understand what all the rainbows were about. And the Sisters of perpetual Indulgence were fabulous, of course. And there were lots of horses and lots of puppy dogs and lots of half naked boys and very hot girls.

I think that I was a little bit overwhelmed, really. In retrospect, I was very NOT focused on the people in my vacinity and I think I missed a bit of the experience. When I did look up from my feet or from staring at a float, I was met with smiles… so I’m sure I missed out on a lot of the general friendliness. And I caught myself tuning even Elmirion out sometimes.. not because he wasn’t interesting but because I was just so overwhelmed by all of the people and the noise and the chaos.

I slathered myself in SPF 50 before I left.. 4 hours later, I was pink and it is still reddening. Gah.
